Worlds
Touch has a diverse and accomplished board of directors of which
we are rightly proud.

Scott Griffiths, Chair
Scott,
our grassroots, community man, is retired from the State of Texas
after twenty five years service in Child Protective Services as
a social worker. He also worked ten years as a labor organizer,
business agent and manager with various needle trades and public
sector unions. He has also been involved in grassroots community
organizing and politics.

David
Walker
David
has over 20 years of professional experience directing nonprofit
organizations. His major accomplishments include nationally recognized
program development. He has expanded and diversified public and
private funding sources at The Hemlock Society, Parents at Teachers
National Center, NC Partnership for Children, and Chicago-based
Child Abuse Prevention Services.

Nar Thapaliya, Treasurer
Since
his degree in Business Administration from Tribhuwan University
in Kathmandu, Nepal, Nar has worked in the hotel industry as front
desk clerk and supervisor. He speaks French and Japanese, as well
as English and Nepali. He's at the Radisson in High Point, NC, after
having won the US Green Card Immigration Lottery. Nar is studying
to become a certified public accountant.

Jenny
Moore
Jenny is Associate Director of HandMade
in America, where she is working to diversify HandMade’s contributed
and earned income. Prior to HandMade, Jenny was the Executive Director
of Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art for 13 years, where
she managed a budget of $750,000, a full-time staff of six and a
part-time staff of nine. Jenny was responsible for fundraising,
grants management, cultivation of corporate and individual donors
and strategic direction of the organization.

Scott Stewart
Scott, an Ohio native, received
his M. D. from The Ohio State University in 1979. Until his retirement
in 2005, he was a neurologist and interventional pain medicine specialist
in High Point, North Carolina. He now practices internal medicine
and neurology as a volunteer physician at the Community Clinic of
High Point. Scott has had a lifelong commitment to community service.
Nimi Laroche
As
controller at Ipas, a women's reproductive health organization in
Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Nimi is responsible for the organization’s
financial management, development, monitoring and implementation
of organization’s and donor’s budgets. She provides
leadership and creativity in planning of finance objectives, assesses
opportunities, develops strategies and projects and collaborates
from other team members, Ipas technical unites, regional and country
colleagues.
Staff

Patricia Perkins, co-executive director
High Point, NC office
After
20 years as a writer, teacher and mother, Travelertrish returned
to university in 2001 in Computer Information Systems, concentrating
on database theory, design and construction, web site construction,
and programming. She began working for nonprofits while still in
school, assessing technology needs, creating databases and web sites.
After founding Worlds Touch, she has developed and executed projects
in New Caledonia, Cambodia, Nepal and India.

Gilda Martinez, co-executive director
San Diego, CA office
Gilda
has a broad range of academic as well as nonprofit, for-profit and
government work experience in the international (Asian) and US development
fields. She's worked for CARE, multi-million-dollar projects funded
by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the United
Nations Development Programme, the World Bank, the Asian Development
Bank. In the US, Gilda had increasingly responsible positions with
nonprofit, social development agencies managing grant-funded projects.
Two

Raphael Llorens, graphic design.
Raf
created the Worlds Touch logo and designed our web site and office
documents. He has a BA in Fine Arts from High Point University and
is working on a portfolio in computer animation and graphic arts.

James
Windle, technology consultant and testing.
James
is a business analyst with an IT background and some experience
of developing Microsoft Access based applications for charities.
