Lumanti: Support Group for Shelter
Lalitpur, Nepal

Worlds Touch conducted an on-site in-depth needs analysis for this poverty work organization. Lumanti carries on water and sanitation projects, education, micro-finance and health programs in over 50 neighborhood communities throughout the Kathmandu Valley and beyond. It works with the lowest castes and the poorest people, supporting savings, enterprise and environmental awareness. With 23 staffers, 10 networked computers, dial-up internet connectivity, and an Excel-based accounting program, Lumanti strives to help its consitiuents help themselves. Worlds Touch created an event reporting database and conducted person-to-person computer training.

Resource Center for Rehabilitation and Development (RCRD)
Bhaktapur, Nepal

Worlds Touch worked closely with staffers in the development of an intake database of disabled individuals. RCRD is an organization that works closely with disabled people in Bhaktapur, and trains community workers to help the disabled in their neighborhoods and villages. It is dedicated to advocacy on behalf of the disabled and increased opportunities for them.
